Players of the top-down scrolling shooter Assault Heroes must now battle from inside an armored jeep against hordes of opponents and enormous bosses in the sequel to the game. This time, players also have access to enemy vehicles, such as tanks and helicopters, which can provide additional firepower when confronted with challenging challenges. Combat on foot is easier to handle because of the new dodge-roll move, which may be employed to escape being hit by enemy fire. Furthermore, specific locations can only be reached on foot. There are also less powerful versions of the jeep’s armaments, including the new ice cannon, which can freeze foes in place and allow the player to shoot them to break them into bits.
Players can link their weapons together to make them more powerful, and cooperative multiplayer play is available both offline and online.
