Golden Sun – The Lost Age is set in a world called Weyard, where there are 4 lighthouses that sustain the life of every resident here. A long ago, villains like Saturdayos and Menardi were annihilated, but it seemed that a new danger appeared when all of these four lighthouses were extinguished, causing Weyard to be immersed in darkness. All living creatures are dying when monsters appear everywhere. Alex, Jenna, Kraden, and Felix try to fight the dangers and light up two lighthouses. However, the remaining two tops seem to have lost their sustained energy. While they are affording to search for it, Alex has been missing, and the secret of the last villain has not been revealed yet. Jenna, Kraden, and Felix have a harder time, but they swear to each other that they must save Weyard and find their close friend.

At the beginning of the game, players will control 3 of Alex’s friends at the same time to join the adventure journey around the world in order to find a way to save the life of the dying Weyard. Golden Sun – The Lost Age follows the play of the previous versions. It includes interacting with other characters to assume information, fight monsters along the way, explore dungeons, caves, and other wilderness environments. In terms of difficulty level, it will continuously increase as the puzzles become more complex. Sometimes players will venture into some rugged terrain, with countless powerful monsters, to search for some formal items. To complete these puzzles, players will have to constantly upgrade their characters’ to improve their fighting ability by using items collected during the game. Sometimes, when completing certain stages, the character will learn new spells and be able to access to some secret locations of the Weyard world.

As for the characters, they are standardly designed for an immersive game, including a level system, skills, equipment, and statistic indicators. Of course, it also holds the upgrade feature to enhance the power as well as defense during the battle. Regarding the mechanism for organizing the battles, it takes place in turn, between the two opposing sides. Every turn, the player will choose actions such as using skills or support items for each character. Once one of the two sides is completely annihilated, the battle ended.

In addition, the Djinn system is also a highly featured part in this game, which contributes to power up or transforms the original 4 classes of the characters to the stronger ones. They are distributed throughout the whole region. In the process of exploring the environment, players will have chances to collect them. Sometimes, Djinn can also be used in battle, to summon a large amount of energy to deal damage to enemies. The power factor is really important, but the tactics are also highly emphasized with Turn-based gameplay, be careful in each turn!
