Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy is a combination of two game genres: adventure and action. Sometimes it also contains a few puzzles that players need to find the solutions in order to unlock the next stages. The areas in the game are divided into many small rooms, connected by paths, or hidden doors. Players will search for them while fighting against hordes of aggressive monsters trying to attack and kill the character. However, that is not all of the difficulty that players need to face when a series of deadly traps are hidden everywhere. In general, its gameplay focuses on the control skills as well as the observation ability of the player.

During the battle, players can also appear Lego scattered everywhere. It is like a currency unit, which can be used to purchase items, weapons, unlock characters or vehicles at Mos Eisley on the Tatooine planet. In addition, there are 3 secret items: gold bricks, miniskirts, and power bricks. They all have different abilities to be exploited: while power bricks supplement the character’s power or put them in an invincible state, gold bricks can be used to exchange other items such as Guns, or Lego points. They are really useful for the final stages when the difficulty level is pushed much higher.

The game has up to 54 playable characters. However, in the story mode, only a few designated characters can be selected for role-playing. Initially, players were only provided a number of available characters to play. After the process of overcoming challenges, players collect Lego and golden bricks to unlock new characters. In terms of character design, even though it’s an RPG, they don’t seem to be very detailed. There are no levels or statistics on offensive or defensive. But they do have unique abilities, such as using swords to fight in the vicinity or using guns and magic to have a better range of influence. Of course, the level of damage is different. In addition, they also have a vitality bar. Every time players being damaged, the proportion will be reduced until zero. The character can be revived if there are still hearts left, and the default supply is 5. Although they drop quite quickly, because the character is quite weak, but when killing enemies successfully, sometimes there are hearts for players to collect.
