This is what I refer to as a “mini-hack” because the actual gameplay only takes up about an hour or two. It was initially designed for the Speedhacking competition that took place at the most recent Pokécommunity Get-Together; however, I never actually posted it on this website. Considering that I won’t be releasing anything new for a considerable amount of time, I figured that I might as well give it away. It takes place over the course of one day in the life of a young Trainer, who has a challenging day ahead of them. They’re almost blown up in the morning, and by lunchtime, he or she is trying to figure out why Team Rocket keeps trying to blow up roads, forests, and mountains — and why Giovanni, of all people, is helping them do it. I’d give more details, but if I did that, I’d be giving away the whole plot, because it’s not that long.
Take on the role of a Pokémon Trainer! Dress up as a member of Team Rocket for a short period of time! Get a hold of a Cubone! I’m sorry to disappoint you, but there aren’t really any ground-breaking new features here. This is just the video game equivalent of a humorous short story; it was made to be played right away and then discarded afterward. Consider it to be candy. It’s entertaining (at least I hope it is), but there’s really nothing to it, and it can seriously damage your teeth. However, if you do end up having tooth decay as a result of playing A Grand Day Out, I will deny any knowledge of it and will not be held responsible in any way.
