Team Rocket ruled Kanto until Red defeated them in Silph Co. and their leader in his GYM. After the leader disappeared, Team Rocket vanished into the darkness. Three years later, they attacked Johto and took their radio tower, but Gold defeated them again. After Team Rocket disbanded, the regions were peaceful again, until now.
