If you’ve ever played any part of the Yu Gi Oh Series, you maybe know that there are three types of cards used in battles. Those are Support, Magic, and Monsters cards. Their usage was clear, but now the first two types have been omitted from “Yu-Gi-Oh! Destiny Board Traveler”. The reason is something that I’m not sure, but what can be seen is that the gameplay that Konami developer has made changes in versions more or less. However, it’s not really hard to grasp.

Some reviews say that this version is quite bad, while others are interested in new things. Probably you will also begin to bring out your own feelings in mind when starting the first fight. It is a mix of Cardgame and Boardgame, where the battlefield is built on a grid of 5×5 squares, controlled and dominated by cards. As for the winning conditions, it will be changed regularly, and decided by the referee, instead of permanent like other brothers in the Series. Throughout the game, there are only conversations between the characters and the rules announced by the referee, without any instructions. This can make players feel a bit confused, but can still catch up immediately after.

However, with a table of such small size, where will the summoned monsters stand when 25 cells have been filled? That’s what I has been wondering, but I answered myself when I started playing. You will have to defeat another opponent to take place, and that is the only way.
Warriors can use the ability from the corresponding class to deal damage. And so on, the flow of actions will take place until the winner is pronounced. Of course, capturing more space is an advantage, as you will be able to place the most powerful monsters wherever you want to gain more stars. There are also some limitations that the descriptions on the card are not very accurate. Although the corresponding skills are still active, the magic effect is not.

In terms of characters, Yugi Mutou, Joey Wheeler, and ten other friends can all be picked to accompany. 4 of them are unlocked, and the others require some achievements. Of course, they also have superpowers for you to harness. For example, Yami Bakura with the ability to absorb souls, or cause the opponent to damage themselves with the Mirror Force technique of Maximillion Pegasus.
