Coming to GI Joe, players will be able to control 6 different characters and be able to fight in many areas (maximum 6 zones to conquer). Combined by the go-to element with the unique shooting challenge, players need to have the good concentration to overcome many unexpected challenges of the game.
The mission system will bring 6 different challenges for players to complete. Each challenge will take place in a certain area, including the Sahara Desert, Amazon, New York City, Antarctica, and The Black Hills. In particular, each task will be arranged in 3 different stages. First, you will have to overcome many pitfalls and enemies along the way to break into the base of Cobra – the main villain of the game. Next, you need to move to the required locations on the map to place bombs and destroy enemy bases. Finally, each base will be controlled by a tycoon and you need to defeat the boss to complete the mission. The bosses you will face include Overlord, Metal-Head, Range Viper, Destro, Voltar and Cobra Commander. Note, each mission will give players a certain amount of time to perform. A countdown timer will be prepared at the right corner of the screen. When the countdown timer returns to 0, the challenge is stopped and you are eliminated from the game. Therefore, you need to complete the mission within the time allowed.
Of the 6 characters allowed to use the mission, each character will possess individual techniques and command different tasks. Duke is the character who has the most balanced specifications for agility, endurance, and firepower. He is the commander of the Amazon Capt mission. Grid-Iron is somewhat inferior to Duke but has strong punches. This character will command the mission at The Black Hills. Snake Eyes will not use guns to destroy enemies, he will use white fireballs to attack and be the commander of the mission in New York City. Blizzard will command at Antarctic missions because he possesses the ability to destroy all solid obstacles. Rock ‘n Roll owns the best firepower and the longest range in the group. He will lead the mission to rescue General Hawk in the Sahara desert. Finally, General Hawk is a character capable of flying in the air to fight the final boss of the game – Cobra Commander. Note, the first 5 characters are allowed to use freely in different stages. General Hawk can only be used in the final stages to end the game.
