Mappy-Land is a sequel to the Mappy series released by Namco in 1983. Different from the previous version, this version is available many playable levels with more challenges to overcome. You will have to control Mappy, through many different areas to get your girlfriend. This task becomes more difficult when the presence of Goro and members of the Meowkies gang. Goro is an NPC that will always stop you, but his outfit will vary from theme to theme. There are 8 randomly displayed themes at each difficulty level for players to explore: Tropical World, Pirate World, Devil’s Village, Jungle World, Railway Town, Seventh Avenue and the galaxy town. In each topic will appear many different items for players to collect. You will get more bonus points when collecting these items. However, items not required by the game will not help you complete the hard levels. Therefore, choose wisely to pass the level with the best results.
In addition to the randomly appearing topics, the game’s map is designed with the terrain. You can use the trampoline to jump to higher terrain or use the microwave to escape the Goro and Meowkies. The trampoline will break when you and the NPCs use it too many times except Jungle World. A number of other special items on the map will also help you escape the pursuit of Goro or Meowkies such as cat toys, Silver Vine Pots, Gold Coin and fish. After completing 4 stories, you will be returned to the first story and start playing again.
