During a book signing, Cate West is approached by Detective Ben Shepard, who is carrying a photograph. Cate takes it up as he lets it fall and has a vision while holding it. The idea is linked to a crime committed in Arcadia City, which prompts the police to seek Cate’s assistance in solving a series of offenses termed The Vanishing Files. Cate is unaware that those atrocities are linked to her father’s murder 17 years earlier and the Biblical legend of the Three Magi.

Cate West: The Vanishing Files is an adventure game with a vital puzzle component. The game is divided into five stages:1. Finding Clues: The player must find a particular amount of artifacts from a list for each case in the crime scenes provided.

Finding Evidence: Each piece of evidence is broken up and spread over a crime scene. A graphical guide will assist the player in locating each piece of evidence at the crime scenes while avoiding incorrect clicks.

Confirming Hideout: To confirm a criminal’s hideout, the player must detect variances between a snapshot and Cate’s vision by clicking either the left or right picture.

Choosing the Criminal: The player must select the criminal from among the suspects. To do so, he must search the evidence for more indications of the criminal’s qualities. With that information and the location, the player can rule out doubtful offenders and point to the correct one.

Matching the Crime site: After entering the courtroom, the player must check the courtroom testimony with their memories of the crime site. The player will be given a collection of objects to place on either of the photos so that they match.

The player can use hints by clicking on a hint button. When you use the lead, a blue ring indicates where the clue is concealed or needs to be placed. The more hints you use, the fewer extra points you get. Bonus points are also awarded for speed, i.e., finding things quickly. Picking the correct offender on the first try will also earn the player bonus points. If the player clicks on erroneous areas too many times, the timeframe will be reduced by 30 seconds.

The quantity of points earned throughout the game determines the game’s ending. Finishing the game in less time, selecting the criminals on the first try, avoiding random clicking, and using suggestions will give the player the best possible conclusion.
