Step into the ring with a bunch of oddball cartoon characters just waiting to pound the crap out of you! In the boxing video game Facebreaker played in the arcade style, you and your opponent engage in three rounds of combat until one of you is eliminated. If a winner has not been determined after three rounds, the game enters the “Sudden Death” mode, and the winner is the first player to be knocked out. The ‘Facebreaker’ move in this game is callous to pull off, yet it results in an immediate victory over your opponent if you successfully use it.
You can perform a brutal attack, grasp your opponent, throw low and high punches, and throw combinations of the two. You can fill up your ‘Breaker Meter’ by continuously attacking with low or high points. This will allow you to break through more defenses. If you perform a powerful strike while the Breaker Meter is complete, you will achieve a Haybreaker, Bonebreaker, Groundbreaker, Skybreaker, or Facebreaker, depending on how full the meter is. Additionally, you can block with the button on your shoulder. If you stop and then utilize either your low or high punch before your opponent hits you, you will have successfully performed a parry, a technique that defends against their incoming attack.
You are also given the option to design your boxers within the game. You have the chance to achieve this goal by merely utilizing the editor that comes included with the game by itself; or, if you have access to a camera, you can snap a picture instead, and the editor will utilize the image you uploaded as the basis for your character’s appearance. You may even upload and download other custom-created boxers to check out what other people have come up with!
