The platform game Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots is played from a side-scrolling perspective. Spongebob Squarepants, Timmy Turner, Jimmy Neutron, Gir, Ren, and Tak are well-known characters from several Nicktoons series featured in this event. Krabby patties provide Professor Calamitous’s army the fuel to do its work. Because of this, they release a gas that can be used to power robots when combined with ghost energy. When Patrick Star and SpongeBob SquarePants are delivering a significant quantity of krabby patties to a house, the Krabby patties are all sucked up, and Patrick is mistakenly taken along with them. Players begin the game by choosing a persona to represent them and then proceed to combat evil robot clones of themselves while traversing the interior of Professor Calamitous’ toy factory.
The platforming style of Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots is the primary component of the game’s gameplay. This style requires players to jump across gaps, maintain their balance on changing terrain, and collect blue energy cubes to use as currency to unlock other playable Nicktoons characters. In addition, the gameplay consists of a side-scrolling motion, with bonus levels interspersed throughout. These bonus levels give the player control of a mech suit that can be used to demolish the professor’s factory. Additionally, a second player can join at any time to engage in cooperative gameplay.
The game includes stages that are set in a variety of universes, each of which is based on the franchises associated with one of the characters. Each level and world introduces a new cast of characters that the player can control.
