BASS Strike was the first bass fishing video game to be released for the PlayStation 2, and it has a license from the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (BASS for short). The game allows the user to play as one of six unique anglers and offers a variety of lakes, all of which have their own “hot spots” for fishing. There are 36 actual lures available to pick from, along with real equipment. If a player qualifies for the Bass Master Classic after competing in eight tournaments, they can compete with actual rules and regulations if they have a B.A.S.S. license.
The fish behave genuinely, just like their counterparts in the real world. The environment features fluctuating weather conditions, which can either aid or hinder the player’s chances of success when fishing. In addition, there is an underwater camera that the player can use while they cast their line, and B.A.S.S. great Shaw Grigsby provides commentary during this portion of the game.
