Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz is the fifth game in the Buzz! Series, and just like the other games in the series, it requires players to use specialized USB ‘buzzer’ controllers in place of the standard controller to be played. Four buzzer controllers are included in each set of the game, which can be purchased with or without the ‘buzzers’ themselves. This enables a maximum of eight players to compete against one another, utilizing the two USB connections offered by the PS2.
The game takes place during an awards ceremony in Hollywood, and players must answer questions about various aspects of the film industry (movies, film stars, movie gossip, etc.) These questions are spread out over eight rounds, including the brand-new “Rollover” round in which players answer questions individually. If they get them wrong, the points go into a jackpot until a question is answered correctly. The bank can only be won if all questions are answered correctly. This game includes traditional questions, still images, and short video segments.
You can construct the perfect quiz with one of the available custom modes by removing any rounds you don’t want to participate in. Various custom modes are accessible, and a mode for a single person to play.
