The Disney computer-animated film of the same name has been adapted into a third-person action video game, Disney’s Treasure Planet. The game’s plot revolves around the exploits of a young kid named Jim Hawkins, who is on a mission to find a fabled planet known as Treasure Planet. To find the earth, he will need to go to many different places all around the galaxy and finish a bunch of other quests until he finds the ultimate prize. The challenges range from locating a predetermined amount of items to capturing escaped animals to toggling a set of switches in a specific order. When a predetermined amount of these chores are finished, advancement to the next level will become available. Completing the tasks will light a beacon.
In addition to this, Jim can assistance from his “pet,” Morph, in ordetorough difficult portions of the level. Morph can modify his appearance into valuable items such as enormous robotic limbs or jetpacks. Solar surfing is another activity that was adapted from the film. During the surfing missions, Jim is the pilot of a futuristic surfboard, which he uses to achieve the objectives of the tasks.
A new 3D game in a different genre was made available for the PlayStation. A unique 2D match was also made available for the Game Boy Advance system.
