.hack//Mutation is the second installment of a video game series that has a total of four games. It is a role-playing video game with a protagonist named Kite that “simulates” a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), such as EverQuest. You can obtain the member addresses of other characters and make an attempt to call them to the game to determine whether or not they are online to participate in a quest with you. It is similar to other massively multiplayer online role-playing games. It contains several optional quests, many varied weapons, and armor, a trading system for equipment between characters, and the opportunity to switch between different servers. In addition, you can communicate with other people considered to be “players” through email and message boards. The second volume includes a number of enhancements, including improved AI control of other characters, new objects, characters, access to additional servers and places, and a few other features. It is possible to import characters from games played in the past, and symbols now in use can be kept for use in games yet to be released.
The tale picks up after the conclusion of the first game in the series. The cause of Kite’s friend’s continued coma state remains a mystery to him at this point. The hacker Helba and the game administrators start getting involved with Kite, adding a new layer of complexity to the plot. The administrators have a problem with him but could use his assistance to determine what’s happening. The mystery surrounding what happened to Aura after the conclusion of the previous game continues to deepen, and new information regarding the beta version of “The World” (which was first referred to as “Fragments”) is making a comeback.
