The series continues with yet another installment, although most of the features seen in Xtreme Legends and Empires have been removed this time. Once more, we are transported to ancient China. This time around, there are a total of 48 unique characters available for selection in the Musou mode. The vast majority of the game’s 48 characters need to be unlocked, and the series has only had an addition of six new characters so far. Every character has a narrative arc to follow.
The number of foes you must fight against on screen is more significant than in any of the previous games in the series. The graphics engine used in this game is the same one used in the last round. The player character’s bodyguards have been improved for this new version so that they perform a better job of guarding them against the game’s adversaries. The stronghold concept from Dynasty Warriors 4: Empires has been brought over, allowing players to take control of an enemy stronghold simply by eliminating the base’s commander.
