The French video game Evil Twin: Cyprien’s Chronicles is a surrealistic three-dimensional platformer. The player assumes the role of Cyprien, an orphan youngster, and navigates him through a darkly comedic landscape consisting of eight separate islands and approximately seventy stages. The game aims for Cyprien to save his four pals, locate his talking teddy bear, and confront himself.
Cyprien is aided and hindered on his journey by various weird things. These beings range from an elephant named Wilbur, who makes his entrances and exits on a swing, to a tribe of demos, animals sliced in half, a big termite queen, a black root, and many more. Wilbur is one of the more memorable characters in the story.
Despite the overwhelming odds against him, he does not consider himself powerless. He has taken with him to this odd dimension his heroic alter persona, Super-Cyp, into which he may momentarily transform himself by using the power-ups dispersed across the many levels.
