The base game, Final Fantasy XI Online, as well as the expansion, Final Fantasy XI Online: Rise of the Zilart, are both included in this edition. Roughly one year and a few months after Final Fantasy XI was made available in Japan, the first expansion, Rise of the Zilart, was made public. At the same time, a package called Final Fantasy XI Online: All-In-One Pack 2003 was made available in Japan. This pack contained both the base game and the expansion. Rise of the Zilart was included in subsequent iterations of Final Fantasy XI that were distributed for the PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Windows in North America and Europe.
