The Soviet Union has taken over New York City! Chris Stone is merely a plumber, and he was willing to live out the rest of his life normally, even after the occupation, until the Soviets picked up his brother Troy and charged him with being a terrorist (also known as a freedom fighter). At that point, Chris Stone became unwilling to live out the rest of his life normally. Chris is responsible for contacting the real freedom fighters, rescuing his brother, and eventually forcing the invaders out of New York City.
A third-person shooter with squad-based tactics is featured in Freedom Fighters. Players have access to a wide array of standard weapons, including pistols, revolvers, assault rifles, submachine guns, shotguns, rocket launchers, and grenades. As you progress through the game, you will unlock the ability to take control of other squad members. Eventually, you will have up to a dozen freedom fighters in your team, battling with you in your mission to expel the invaders.
