Godzilla, a massive beast that emerged from the depths of the ocean, has alternately served as Earth’s protector and destroyer. Because of Godzilla’s terrifying strength, researchers have started conducting experiments on the monster’s DNA and developing synthetic versions of the monster’s G-Cells. A race of extraterrestrials who call themselves the Vortek decides to attack Earth to steal some G-Cells made with Godzilla’s DNA. They achieve their goal by manipulating other enormous creatures, which combat one another. Only a monster endowed with free will would be able to eradicate the Vortek’s legions and drive the Vortek from their home.

A fighting game in three dimensions, Godzilla: Save the Earth is a sort of successor to the previous Godzilla game, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee. Players have the option of selecting from among 18 different monsters that have appeared in Godzilla films in the past with which to do combat and cause havoc. Godzilla (from the 1990s and the 2000s), Mecha-Godzilla (from versions 2 and 3), Spacegodzilla, Anguirus, Destoroyah, Gigan, Moguera, Jet Jaguar, Baragon, Rodan, Megalon, Megaguirus, Mothra (in both her larval and adult forms), Orga, King Ghidorah, and Mecha-King Ghidorah are all in the cast list. Each monster has a diverse arsenal of melee and ranged attacks, including punches, kicks, grabs, throws, and blocks. In addition, different button combinations can launch a wide array of special moves for each creature in the game. There are even monsters that can fly. Finding Power-Ups that will replenish your health, restore your energy, trigger the Rage mode, and target the enemy for Air Strikes is possible.

Different gameplay modes, including Action, Versus, Survival, Challenges, and Melee, are available. When playing the Action game mode, one monster faces off against several other monsters in a 1v1 battle. The game’s difficulty levels determine the number of enemies that must be fought. Bowling, Demolition, Osaka crunch, Rail Shooter, Vorillium Basket Ball, Mother Ship, Protect the Tower, Destroy the City (percentage), Destroy the City (point value), Attack the Navy, and other mini-games are available in the Action mode of the game. After coming across them in the Challenges mode, several of these will become available for unlocking. The player earns points for their accomplishments in the Action mode (or by picking up G-cells), which may be used to unlock additional characters, Gallery Photos, and Arenas. The Save the Earth game also has a multiplayer option called “Versus.” Survival Mode. In the Melee mode, there is also a multiplayer component consisting of a four-player free-for-all of monster mayhem in a confined arena.
