Gradius V

The army of Gradius exterminated an evil life form that was posing a threat to the galaxy a very long time ago. However, some of the Bacterian cells managed to survive, and now a new army is standing by, ready to take control of the galaxy! The Gradius forces have built a super spatial-temporal fighter known as the Vic Viper, which you must pilot to eliminate all adversaries. The gameplay of Gradius V is a side-scrolling shooter in the vein of arcade games, much like the gameplay of the previous entries in the series. You will need to control the Vic Viper as it moves through a succession of panels that scroll to the side and eliminate the numerous foes that arise along the way, including some very massive bosses. Even though you start the game with minimal firepower, you will eventually be able to acquire additional weapons. When some foes are defeated, a power-up capsule will be left behind. Acquiring these capsules will allow you to progress further in the weapon selector. After receiving good pills, you can select the weapon you desire and activate it to give the Vic Viper that particular weapon. You can choose between increasing your speed, firing missiles twice as fast, firing lasers, firing multiples (which circle the Vic Viper and provide more firepower), and using force fields. As you go through the game, the narrative will be revealed in brief animated cutscenes, and the opposition will get both more difficult and numerous. The controls, the amount of difficulty, and the number of lives you start with may all be changed in this game, giving you some personalization over your experience.
