You have arrived in the future. The rise of gang warfare and organized crime at the beginning of the 21st century has resulted in the privatization of law enforcement. The Anti-Crime Network (ACN) uses bounty hunters with the alias ‘Headhunters’ to search down the most wanted criminals. These bounty hunters are equipped with advanced weaponry and trained in battle.
You play the role of Jack Wade, a former police officer turned headhunter. You start the game on an operation table with your hands and feet restrained but somehow manage to free yourself. You blacked out in the alley and woke up in the hospital after being in a coma. You have had your license revoked, and you don’t remember much, but Angela Stern has hired you to find the person who killed her father. If you can yourself alive for a sufficient amount of time, you might know what happened to you…
The action-adventure film Headhunter is told from an over-the-shoulder perspective. Radar can be found in the top right corner of the screen, and it will follow not only your movements but also those of the adversary. Jack can choose from a few different moves at any given time. In addition to being able to roll, duck, push, pull, and climb items, he can press himself against a wall. He can get a better perspective of what’s going on by employing this strategy to peep over corners, and then he can attack from this position while using the wall as protection.
During the intermissions between levels, Jack is equipped with a motorcycle, which he uses to navigate himself to different areas of the city by the clues he is given. However, you will first need to accumulate more skill points to reach your destination. You won’t be able to access some portions of the city until you acquire the proper Headhunter license.
Because you have no memory of your past, you must obtain several permits before you can access different city areas and more sophisticated weaponry and equipment. The LEILA, the Law Enforcement Intelligence and Licence Approval, is a virtual reality simulator for administering these tests. You will be required to go to the LEILA facility at various points throughout the game to improve your license by engaging in battle, stealthy activities, and driving.
For Jack to be granted access to the equipment dispensers, he must pass the exams LEILA administers. At the beginning of the game, he is only equipped with a standard-issue Stimulator Automatic; however, as the game proceeds, he can acquire grenades, proximity mines, neuro stunners, decoy rounds, shotguns, and automatic weapons. Electric Neural Projectiles, or ENPs, are shot out of the weaponry in this game rather than bullets. These ensure that the target does not regain consciousness after being shot, thereby protecting their vital organs.
In addition, Jack communicates with Angela and his previous chief at the ACN through a CASIO Visual Manager. This wristwatch can record video and has an integrated connection to the LEILA database.
