Participate in the animated journey that DreamWorks has created by directing Marty, the zebra, Alex the lion, Melman the giraffe, Gloria the hippo, and those sneaky penguins as they attempt to flee the Central Park Zoo, make their way through the streets of New York, and eventually arrive at the San Diego zoo, where they will find themselves in the middle of a wild jungle.
The book’s plot is identical to that of the movie, and reading one chapter will move you one step further in the narrative. Every chapter will have its own unique set of objectives. You just need to achieve one particular goal in each chapter to move on to the next chapter, so if you don’t get them all the first time, you can always try again later.
You will be required to play as a different character during each stage, and specific locations will involve all playable characters.
Each character possesses unique skills, such as Marty’s ability to kick with his rear legs, sneak around his opponents by sliding, and do long jumping. Alex, the lion, has various offensive skills, including the ability to hurl fruit, utilize his claws, and roar at his foes. Gloria’s powerful moves are tumbling, butt-bouncing, and hip-checking. And when she has consumed some chili peppers, she can plunge headfirst into anyone who threatens her. Melman can head smash, toss things toward, and spin into his adversaries. Additionally, he can use the Helicopter maneuver, which allows him to glide for a considerable distance. Finally, the Penguin can destroy its foes by sliding, fishing, and attacking with a Finishing move similar to a karate chop.
Throughout the game, you will have the opportunity to gather a variety of objects, such as Life Tikis, which will let you refill your Health Meter, and Monkey Money, which will give you the ability to purchase unique products at the Souvenir Shop, such as mini-games and special clothes for the Madagascar cast.
