NBA 2K8 is a continuation of 2K’s NBA franchise. It includes the required roster and stats updates for each team, the standard game modes of Exhibition, Season, and Career, and a Franchise mode known as The Association. In this mode, players can recognize critical players and troublemakers, track current injuries and stats, and simulate games.
The controls are essentially the same as in earlier versions, albeit with a few minor improvements incorporated. One of these areas is one in which players can transition to other players on offense besides the person handling the ball to set up alley-oops and put up screens to mislead opponents. Players can use the right analog stick for defensive purposes, enabling them to lock onto opponents and engage in defensive play against them. In addition, there is something called Signature Style, which gives the NBA players a more fluid and lifelike feel to them.
There is also a Slam Dunk Contest sponsored by Sprite, in which participants can compete against four other opponents online and choose from more than 300 distinct dunk variations. Many well-known rappers, including Q-Tip, Run-DMC, and Percee P, are responsible for providing the game’s soundtrack.
