You can take on the general manager job for a National Hockey League team in NHL FaceOff 2003. Players can construct a squad through drafting, free agency, trades, and signings. Other modes of play include going one-on-one with the goalkeepers in Shootout Mode, practicing your shot in Practice Mode, or skating in a tournament with a single elimination format as either an NHL or international team.
In addition, three levels of challenge are available for each game’s types of play: rookie, regular, and veteran.
Watching the players walk through the tunnel before the game, participating in pre-game warm-ups, witnessing players shove after the whistle, jibes from the penalty box, and post-game celebrations are some of the new presentations available in the gameplay.
