SpongeBob and Patrick leave Bikini Bottom and go to new and uncharted regions as they embark on a heroic and humorous adventure. The mission will take them through more than 20 levels of platform, driving, and sliding action. Players join them in their fight to thwart Plankton’s sinister plot to take control of the entire globe, known as Plan Z! It is Mr. Krabs’ fault, according to Plankton, that he has taken possession of Bikini Bottom after stealing the crown that belonged to King Neptune and seizing power there. SpongeBob and Patrick must go to the distant city of Shell City together to retrieve the crown, bring it back to Bikini Bottom, and save both the town and Mr. Krabs.
