Fred enlists the help of the rest of Mystery, Inc. to see his cousin, Jed, who works at the Monstrous Fright & Magic. MFM is a special effects firm that develops monster costumes using a secret chemical they devised called “Mubber” that makes the outfits appear so genuine that the user physically becomes the monster. When they arrived, the location was in shambles. Mubber creator and MFM owner Winslow Stanton informed them that someone had stolen the Mubber formula and used it with animations to destroy and vanish the building. He believes it is Jed’s fault because he, too, has disappeared. It appears it is up to Scooby and the gang to track down Jed, defeat the costumed monsters, and uncover the truth behind this big mystery!
Scooby-Doo is back! Unmasked, you will direct Scooby to assist Mystery, Inc. in locating clues, fighting monsters, and occasionally rescuing your friends. You will go across different worlds, including China Town and a museum. You will face enemies such as the Chinese Zombie and the Black Knight, and the only way to defeat them is to use your spin, slide, roll, and smash attacks! You can also design customized costumes that grant you additional powers by gathering numbers. For example, the Kung Fu Costume will allow you to move with greater agility and force. Keep an eye on your health, which is reflected by your number of Scooby Medals. If your health reaches zero, the game will restart at the latest save point, but you can recover it by collecting enough Scooby snacks scattered throughout the game. You can also ask Shaggy to make you a special supper by collecting food items, which will boost your overall number of medals.
When you’ve gathered enough clues in each universe, Velma will ask you a few questions to find out who is behind everything, and you must choose the clues that you believe will answer these questions. After then, you’ll have to face a boss before Velma reveals the villain’s identity.
Scooby-Doo! Unmasked can be saved anytime by selecting Save Game from the Pause Menu. You can also enable the Autosave function, which causes the game to save at various points. You can replay any level as often as possible to collect any missing objects. Bonus Arts may be found in the additional menu, which showcases numerous conceptual art pieces utilized in the game’s creation.
