As you strive to become the best snowboarder in history, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills on the slopes of the largest mountain in the world, at least in the SSX universe. In contrast to the first two games in the series, this one requires you to explore the mountain at your own leisure to uncover competitions and challenges to participate in. You have complete autonomy over how you spend your time.
There are several different competitions that players may take part in. These range from the standard all-on-all race through courses littered with obstacles and giant leaps to execute goofy tricks. In addition, there is a half pipe where players can bust tricks, and plenty of complicated maneuvers to learn and stuff to great bonuses. In addition, you are free to ride the entirety of the mountain whenever it suits you, allowing you to hone your skills and familiarize yourself with the terrain before participating in more competitive events.
Completing challenges and races will earn you prizes. In addition to trophies and medals to add to your collection, you may also win monetary awards to use toward the acquisition of new objects, the improvement of your board, or the enhancement of your image. The more races you participate in, the more experience your selected character will gain. This will allow you to level up your powers, improve your technique, and unlock even more outrageous moves.
