On its way to the Alpha Quadrant, the U.S.S. Voyager is attacked by an unidentified vessel and transported to a graveyard of spacecraft containing a massive space station. The user assumes the role of Ensign Alex Munro, second-in-command of the newly formed Hazard Team, an elite force of Voyager security personnel. It is up to you and your crew to discover why the Voyager was brought here and to devise an escape route. They must execute multiple missions on various ships and space stations to achieve this.
Star Trek: Voyager – Elite Force is a Quake III-powered first-person shooter. There are various sorts of missions, ranging from pure combat to stealth. In addition to well-known Star Trek races such as the Borg and the Klingons, the game’s enemies also include alien races and creatures created expressly for it. All the weapons have a futuristic appearance, from the low-damage hand phaser to the stasis weapons and grenade launchers. Either the weapons progressively recharge ammunition automatically, or they require shots that can be acquired from other armaments or terminals.
Though the user controls only Munroe directly, up to three AI-controlled teammates typically accompany him (or her) on missions and fight the enemies. Scripted events and cutscenes frequently involve these comrades’ actions. Munroe can explore the spaceship when not on a mission, conversing with characters directly or overhearing their conversations. During the game, the player can make several decisions that may impact subsequent events.
“Holomatch” is also available as a multiplayer mode.
