After countless games depicting various aspects of the expansive Star Wars universe (including some we never wanted to see), players now have the opportunity to step into the boots of the average soldier during the wars that raged across the galaxy. This is the first time this opportunity has been made available in gaming history. The gameplay is built on the successful standards established by Battlefield 1942; however, the action in Battlefront is far more considerable and heated, vehicles play a more prominent role, and recognizable starships are also present.
Three main game modes are available: Historical Campaign, Conquest, and Instant Action. The former option features a series of “historical” conflicts based on the Star Wars mythos, while the latter style challenges players to compete for supremacy over particular planets. The Republic, the Separatists, the Rebel Alliance, and the Galactic Empire are pitted against each other in this video game. In addition to the four regular unit types (soldier, heavy weapons trooper, scout, and pilot), each faction includes a fifth, more specialized unit type significantly unique to that faction. Only certain fights will feature well-known members of the Jedi and Sith orders as non-playable characters. In conclusion, the game recreates practically all the vehicles featured in the films, allowing players to fly, drive, or hover their way to victory.
