The Street Fighter Alpha Anthology contains coin-op conversions of the next games that are direct adaptations:
- Street Fighter Alpha
- The second version of Street Fighter
- Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold (also known as Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha; it features various gameplay upgrades in addition to characters and classic versions of Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Sagat, and M. Bison that were previously exclusively available in the Street Fighter Collection) is also known as Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha.

Even though these are faithful conversions, a few additions and hidden elements are included. Hyper Street Fighter Alpha is a versus mode based on Alpha 1, 2, and 3 with additional characters and ISMs mimicking other series’ mechanics such as chain combos, a parrying system, advancing guard, and even move variations of the Marvel vs. Capcom series. If the player completes each game’s single-player mode, they will unlock a bonus version of Alpha 3 with home version characters and new fighting styles. This version is called Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper in the Japanese version. You can also unlock the English version of Alpha 2 if you have the Japanese version of the game.
The loading screens have been removed in the game’s arcade version, and the player can customize the options. Arcade (Story) and Versus are the two primary game modes of every title. The Alpha games also have a method called Survival and Dramatic Battle, which allows players to compete in tag team matches against one another.
