Cookie and Cream are two cartoon rabbits on their way home on the night before their clan’s annual moon festival when they learn that the moon has decided to run away, and if Cookie and Cream aren’t able to find it, there will never be another festival. If Cookie and Cream cannot see the moon, another celebration will never exist. Fearing that this may occur, the two people decide to take action to prevent it from happening.
The Adventures of Cookie & Cream is intended to be played cooperatively with at least two players. The objective of each stage is to reach the finish line within the allotted period. The path from point A to point B is relatively uncomplicated, but there are a few challenges that the players must surmount along the route. This comprises typical platforming or puzzles that need to be solved by both players to be completed, such as one player having to click a button for the other player to continue. The game utilizes a split-screen perspective because the path differs for both characters. Some power-ups extend the time limit, but some barriers reduce it if they are touched. There are a total of 35 levels available.
It is possible to play the game alone, albeit in that case, the player will be responsible for controlling both characters simultaneously. The game also has a distinct mode for four players in which each character is controlled by two players simultaneously using a single joystick.
