You take charge of the Fellowship as they walk a path of evil to the steps of Mount Doom to cast the One Ring of Sauron back into the volcano’s depths, which will, in turn, destroy the evil inside it. This game is based on the classic novels of the late J.R.R. Tolkien. This first book of a trilogy follows Frodo and the Fellowship as they start their trek to Mount Doom, only to discover that what is waiting for them may be more than they can take.
In the Xbox version, which is a third-person adventure, you must scale the realms of Middle Earth while engaging in real-time combat with various wicked monsters to make your way through the game. Along the way, you will run with recognizable individuals that will either help you or get in the form of your advancement.
In contrast to the film trilogy, this retelling of the story contains Tom Bombadil and other characters that were never brought to life on the big screen. Additionally, this version of the story uses several of Tolkien’s songs as riddles throughout the book.
