The Sims: Bustin’ Out is the console sequel to the original Sims game, The Sims, and the second Sims game to be released for one of the central console platforms. The door of the Sims’ home has been opened, and they are free to explore the world around them.
When playing the mission-based game mode Bust Out, the game begins with the player at Mom’s house, where they learn that the villainous Malcolm Langrabb is reclaiming items from all of the Sims’ homes. Your mission is to earn enough money to buy back all of the valuables taken from him and ultimately to evict him from his mansion. In addition, there is a mode called Freeplay with no set ending.
The significant new additions to Bustin’ Out are an online multi-player option for two players that can be played on a PlayStation 2, as well as the ability for the single-player campaign to include visits to and transitions between other houses. Since then, the servers for the online mode have been taken down completely.
