Following the accomplishments of Katamari Damacy, the King of all Cosmos and his son, the Prince, have attained considerable notoriety. The Prince has been dispatched to Earth once more to roll things up with a katamari (a collective noun meaning “a clump of stuff”); however, this time around, he will be taking requests from the fans as to what they would like to see rolled up!
The gameplay is the same as in Katamari Damacy; you move the katamari around using both analog sticks simultaneously. When the Katamari rolls over a sufficiently small object, the object will stick to the Katamari, which will cause the Katamari to grow in size. You’ll be able to wrap up more massive items as the Katamari continues to increase in size. Several different tasks need to be finished; for some of these objectives, you will be required to roll up as many objects as possible within a given amount of time, while for others, you may be required to roll up a predetermined number of things as quickly as possible. In some cases, specific objects will need to be avoided. Most of the quests occur in expansive environments, such as a network of interconnected chambers, an open park, or even entire cities. In specific settings, the Prince must roll up clouds to bring back the sun or collect lights to let a young man study.
As the Katamari rolls around, it can pick up almost anything, including but not limited to: umbrellas, desks, erasers, pencils, batteries, plants, beach balls, tea kettles, fences, various animals, people, buildings, trees, mountains, automobiles, and a great deal more. Some cutscenes occur between the stages that provide background information on the Prince and the King of all Cosmos. Every expedition begins in the meadow, a hub where people, animals, and others can communicate their needs for assistance. The Prince has the open either accept the mission or look for opportunities. After everything is finished, the Prince returns to the King, and the Katamari is either launched into space as a planet or turned into stardust if an existing world is superior in size or capacity.
When it comes time to finish the game, the Prince is whisked away to the cosmos, where he must first roll up all the planets and then the sun. Players can check their presents, ranks, and collections in the meadow. They can also modify general options, save, or restore a game here. The game includes unique songs and a new mode for two players. The images are incredibly vivid, and the characters and their dialogues are out of the ordinary.
