Braid

Braid is a puzzle game that looks like a 2D platformer. The player controls Tim to search for a lost princess and travels through six worlds with different areas. To attract gamers and give them the best travel, each world reveals the background and emotions of the protagonist. Players can explore worlds without solving all the puzzles. The main feature is time manipulation because Tim can rewind time anytime to help him solve puzzles. Different worlds have unique time mechanics, such as creating clones or affecting time with movement. In addition, some items and enemies react differently to this power. Puzzles need careful observation and logic. Players collect puzzle pieces to complete pictures. The game has no filler elements, and every part serves a purpose. There’s also a speedrun mode for fast times. Later versions include a level editor. Especially the story becomes clearer as you progress, and it combines storytelling with gameplay mechanics.
