In the world of Dead Rising 2, the zombie virus exists and infects the US. To solve this infection, humanity has created Zombrex, a drug that delays zombification. Therefore, players control Chuck Greene and should go to Fortune City with his infected daughter Katey. A game show is organized to earn money for Zombrex, and the protagonist should be the winner. For gameplay, the game spans 72 hours, with an extra Overtime Mode. The gameplay is sandbox-style in Fortune City, where players can do anything from exploring to completing missions. Through the journey, anyone will make decisions and create many futures. In addition, Zombrex can be found or bought. Chuck earns Prestige Points to level up and gain abilities.
