Journey

Journey features a robed character exploring a vast desert. Players guide the character towards a distant mountain without explicit instructions. The game has no HUD or hazards. Players can move and whistle to activate glyphs. Flying is possible by using cloth pieces. As the journey progresses, these abilities improve through the main challenge of finding ways to advance. An online cooperative mode allows anonymous players to travel together, but communication is limited to movement and whistling. Proximity between characters enables flying charges. The game focuses on aesthetic cooperation rather than challenges. Although they don’t affect gameplay, hidden glyphs can be activated. The game reveals companions’ usernames after completion. It also emphasizes exploration, simple interactions through a serene atmosphere, and a unique gaming experience.
