The world of Ashan faces the Demons coming from Sheogh with the link of the moon. They act to find the legendary Blade of Binding, which controls demons. Some people are tempted by demonic power, so everyone needs heroes to save the world from evil forces. At the same time, the game blends puzzle and strategy, where you control young versions of heroes who appear in the previous game. The campaign has five acts across Ashan and Sheogh. Therefore, the journey allows players to move, talk to people, and collect resources. Combat is turn-based when heroes use three troop types: normal, elite, and master, which have different values. In particular, normal troops are unlimited once unlocked. Elite and master units must be bought and can die. Units share abilities with their Heroes counterparts.
