Brothers in Arms: D-Day is the first installment in the Brothers in Arms series to be released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). This first-person shooter, like the others in the BIA brand, takes place during World War II and strongly emphasizes the use of cover and tactical gameplay alongside cooperative missions. Throughout the events of the Normandy battle, the plot focuses on Sergeant Matthew Baker and Corporal Joe Hartstock.

D-Day is a remix of the first two games in the series, Road to Hill 30 and Earned in Blood. This is because the stages and combat missions were chosen from the first two BIA games, reworked for the PSP, and included alongside a collection of brand-new levels. The player now has access to mortars and bazooka teams, which they can employ to their advantage. New capabilities have been granted to teammates, cover can now be breached, and other firearms have been included. A significant portion of the gameplay is around cooperating with your colleagues. Afterward, strategies are devised by looking at the action from a birds-eye perspective.

There are 12 skirmish missions, or 4 different game modes may be played during the cooperative multiplayer campaign while playing multiplayer games through Wi-Fi Ad Hoc.
