Ford Bold Moves Street Racing is the third title in the licensed Ford Racing series made by Razorworks since they took over development with Ford Racing 2. This version, unlike its predecessors, has an urban setting. The road races, off-road challenges, and circuit tracks have been deleted, and the action has been relocated exclusively to Los Angeles streets, with 24 channels available. The 18 accessible automobiles, as in the previous iteration, are all Ford, ranging from the 1968 Mustang GT to the 2007 Shelby GT 500.

The four main modes are quick Race, Team Racing, Solo Racing, and Multiplayer. Solo Racing provides fast races and championships where new vehicles and tracks can be unlocked. The true innovation is the Team Racing mode, divided into single races, team championships, challenges, and tutorials. In ways such as Race, Elimination, or Duel, the player controls two or three vehicles in a single team during a race. To influence the driving behavior of the teammates, the player must either switch between vehicles to drive (the other cars then become AI-controlled) or issue orders such as Block (slow down another vehicle) or Draft (different speed in the slipstream). This can be expanded to include double or even triple actions with the same impact. Blocked cars must brake and weave across the track until they regain control.

Racing or accomplishing tasks yields credits, which may be spent in the showroom to purchase new vehicles. Despite the urban motif, no tuning choices exist, and automobile sales can only be viewed, repaired, and sold.

The PSP version includes six new Ford vehicles (1962 Thunderbird Sports Roadster, 1971 Mustang Mach 1, 2004 Bronco Concept, 2005 Shelby GR-1 Concept, 2005 SVT Sport Trac Adrenaline Concept, and 2005 Thunderbird), and seven new tracks. Two cars can be controlled in Team Racing mode (three in console versions), and Wi-Fi-based solo and team multiplayer are enabled.

There is also a second Australian PS2 release called Ford Street Racing (XR Edition), which includes four extra cars associated with Ford’s history in Australia: the 1970 Ford XY GT Falcon, the 1970 Ford XY GTHO Falcon (Phase III), the 2003 Falcon XR8 Ute, and the Australian Falcon XR8. That is also the only PSP version available in Australia.
