The epic action game Peter Jackson’s King Kong is based on the movie directed by Peter Jackson, who is also known for The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The game was made at Ubisoft Studios, and the movie’s director and the company that made the special effects for the cinema oversaw the work. Notable is that Michel Ancel, who made Beyond Good and Evil and other well-known games, played a crucial role in making the game.

Jack Driscoll, played by Adrien Brody, who is also known for his role in Roman Polansky’s The Pianist, is the main hero of Peter Jackson’s King Kong. He and his coworkers go to an island that seems to be empty (called Skull Island). But when they take their first steps on this new land, it’s clear that dinosaurs live on this mysterious island.

As Jack, you must work with your team to fight off monsters coming at you with pistols, rifles, spears, and any other weapon you can use. Since dinosaurs are usually much stronger than the heroes, you must use the environment to hurt them. Sometimes you run into groups of natives who also want to kill you. Each of Jack’s friends is good at something different and can use things that the others can’t. This makes the game a little more strategic since you have to switch between characters carefully to choose the one with the best skills at the time. You can also play as King Kong himself in the game. The isometric camera changes to a side view at these points. When you play as King Kong, your goal is to tear apart your opponents and fight monster Tyrannosaurs in fast-paced and unpredictable battles. There are also arcade-style parts to the game, like playing as the giant gorilla and climbing up rocks and vigorous vines. Later, you move to New York, where you have to deal with traffic and people who don’t like you as King Kong.

Weta Ltd. made a series of pre-rendered cutscenes for the game that look just like the movie. Ubisoft also got the actors who played the leading leaes to voice the game characters.

The 3D graphics of the game are similar to what we could see in versions for PlayStation, Xbox, and GameCube. Other impressive things (for PSP) are the game’s jungle and how well the city was made.
