Star Ocean: First Departure is an improved version of Star Ocean, the original Super Famicom game never released in North America. This game was created as part of a strategy to re-release the first two Star Ocean games for the Sony PSP.
Enhanced sprites, 3D environments, multiple anime cinematics, improved voice acting, new playable characters, and an official English translation are all included. The game fits on a single UMD disc even with all of this added content.
The scenario is roughly the same, and characters, like in the first game, can train in numerous talents and crafting professions. Once the player has watched the new anime cut sequences in-game, they may be viewed from the title screen.
