Rampage 2: Universal Tour is an adventure action game released in 1999 for PlayStation by Sony Entertainment. The story begins when a space station called Athena-1 is destroyed by a mutated mouse. However, one has a surviving crew member and returns to earth. That person is Dr. Kerry Atkins. He asked chief executive Energyne Claire Wyden to search for and retrieve the containers of genetically engineered pathogens. After the incident on the space station, it left debris across the United States. Later, one fragment was swallowed by a crocodile in the Everglades, and another was exposed by a wolf in a forest in Utah. A former soldier of the United States Special Forces and also a member of an animal protection unit named Davis Okoye befriended an albino monkey. This rare albino monkey is named George, and it was saved by Davis Okoye from illegal hunters. One of the debris fell to the residence of this monkey, and George was infected with the germ.
After being infected, George grew larger and became fierce. Davis Okoye contacted Dr. Kate Caldwell to find a cure. Dr. Kate Caldwell explained that the pathogen causing the gene mutation was used by Energyne to rewrite animals’ genes on a large scale. However, she discovered the purpose of this pathogen was to be used as a biological weapon. Later, she was fired from work and detained in prison. The monkey George went crazy at the reserve and was captured and taken away. In addition, the government has arrested other mutated animals, Lizzie and Ralph. However, the people of the government caused an accident and created three new monsters, including Boris, Ruby, and Curtis.
In the game, players will choose one of three monsters, Boris, Ruby, and Curtis, to participate in the journey. The character’s mission will be to rescue other mutated creatures. Players will control the character to smash buildings, cannibalize and destroy buildings in search of the whereabouts of other creatures. When the player rescues one of the three mutant creatures, you will be able to switch characters to control. After rescuing all imprisoned creatures, aliens will invade Earth. Players will control these mutant creatures to help humans protect the planet.
