The Alien Breed: Evolution series ends with the third and final installment, Descent. As Chief Engineer Theodore Conrad of the alien-infected ship Leopold descends inside the alien ship that started this mess, the player takes control of him and directs him to discover the truth about this Alien Breed once and for all. The gameplay resembles a traditional twin-stick shooter, in which a single character faces off against a giant alien horde using a limited arsenal while being required to gather supplies along the route. The stages can be played through Story and Survival modes for a solitary player and in cooperative games for multiple players.
The third installment of the series introduces various new features, such as additional weaponry, new races of aliens, and third-person sections of the overall campaign.
