Ashes Cricket 2009 is the latest installment in Codemasters’ long-running series of cricket video games, including Ricky Ponting and Brian Lara. The player will find a lot of new features in the game. Batters now have the option of choosing between the back-foot and front-foot shots, and bowlers have been given a broader arsenal of deliveries to pick from, in addition to pitching tips to help them get the most out of their deliveries. The ECB, Cricket Australia, and the MCC have all given their full licensing approval for the game to be used during the 2009 Ashes event. All Australian and English players appear in the game with correct likenesses and identities. The game also includes a Legends coaching mode hosted by Sir Ian Botham and Shane Warne, player customization, and online play. The game consists of fully-fledged ODI, Test, and Twenty methods (single match and tournament), a Legends coaching mode, and Twenty over methods.
