Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 is a side-scrolling, action-puzzle platformer in which the player controls Nathan “Rad” Spencer, the previous games’ returning hero. The structure and gameplay of the game are very similar to those of its predecessor, with one key exception: players can now leap.
Players must navigate the maps by climbing, grabbing, and swinging their bionic arms. Aside from the sheer navigational obstacles, many types of opponents patrol or protect various portions of the levels. The game has many weaponry and arm upgrades to assist players in defeating the numerous enemy types. Each game chapter concludes with a boss level. The bosses are pattern-based foes that range in size from large to enormous.
The plot of BCR 2 centers around Spencer and his squad of bionics as they attempt to prevent General Sabio from launching his WMDs. The Bionic Commando universe’s tongue-in-cheek humor is integral to the tale. All levels are timed and ranked on leaderboards (including story and challenge rooms). The whole game may be played in couch co-op mode as well.
