This installment of the Brian Lara/Ricky Ponting Cricket series includes all of the 2007 Cricket World Cup teams and venues, the Champions Trophy one-day tournament, fast-paced Twenty20 matches, and full-length 5-day Test matches. Outside of those competitions, the names of the players are made up.
There are more bowling styles, such as increasing the reverse swing as the ball ages. Fielding includes reflex catches from slips, extra run-outs, and stumpings. Realistic modeling of strokes off the bat’s edges and an elegant sweep shot are now included in batting. The computer AI plays a more aggressive arcade-style game.
Offline or online tournaments (on PC and Xbox 360, a first for a cricket game) with up to 16 participants are available. Players can form their dream squad of the world’s finest cricketers or attempt one of the new tutorials to learn the game. A traveling staff of five commentators covers the various matches.
