Red Alert in Command & Conquer, Three desperate leaders of a doomed Soviet Union travel back to change history. A new parallel reality develops in which the Soviets are now the leading superpower, but something else has gone wrong. The Japanese Empire of the Rising Sun has risen in the east, opposing the Soviet bid for world dominance. The Soviet Union, the Allies, and a new Empire of the Rising Sun faction are now at odds.
The game follows the Command & Conquer series tradition, with the player constructing bases and assembling a vast attack force to kill all foes. The player can pick between three sides, each with its own set of soldiers, armored vehicles, aircraft, and ships to fight with, as well as buildings with new technologies, upgrades, and all-powerful superweapons. Players build everything from a sidebar, setting up production queues and deploying structures quickly.
The Xbox 360 version is nearly identical but has been updated to accommodate the console’s controls.
