Ethan Thomas is back, and he’s hunting for a missing pal this time. Along the journey, his inner demons obstruct him once more. The events of the second game take place eleven months after those of the first.

This is a first-person shooter with melee aspects, similar to the predecessor. The game is primarily a close-quarters fighting game, although you will come across long-range weapons like handguns, shotguns, rifles, etc. In terms of melee weaponry, everything can be utilized as a weapon. You can, for example, tear loose wooden planks with the nails still attached and use them as a weapon.

New attacks in the game include Environment Kill and Chain Attack. After bringing an enemy to his knees, you can choke, grip him and use your environment as a last blow, such as hurling him headlong into a TV, whereas Chain Attack is a combination system activated when a bar on the screen is filled. You fill it up by defeating several foes.

Ethan Thomas is back working for SCU (Serial Crime Unit). Hence his Forensic Tools have returned. This time, instead of letting the game determine the gadget to utilize for the crime scene, you’ll have to choose it yourself. Accomplish Points are also back in the game, and their value increases based on how well or poorly you complete a level.

In contrast to the first game, there is now a multiplayer section for up to eight players with various modes such as deathmatch, team deathmatch, bomb rush (time-based games between SCU Agents versus Influenced bums), and crime scenes (the Influenced must hide evidence that SCU agents must track using their equipment).
